Free Teleconference on Navigating ADHD

On January 12, Attention Deficit Disorder Resources is hosting a free teleconference called "Navigating ADHD."Hosted by Tracey Bromley Goodwin, M.Ed. and Holly Oberacker, ART, LMHC, the free program will discuss communication strategies parents can implement with their ADHD kids.
"Navigating ADHD is a solutions-based approach to supporting families whose lives are affected by ADHD. [Goodwin and Oberacker] merged their unique expertise and ADHD focused experience to develop proven methods for managing the symptoms of ADHD. Virtual ADHD Conference This Week

Top experts and leaders in the ADHD community are gathering for a unique conference that will take place almost entirely online. Though the conference is geared towards professionals, parents of kids with ADHD are encouraged to attend as well.

"Participants can choose to attend sessions live via teleconference or computer webcast [video there tells you exactly how], or listen to presentation recordings later," reported the Core Psych Blog. "There will also be opportunities to interact with your peers in dedicated forums and chat rooms."

Mississippi Conference Addresses ADHD

The sixth annual Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Related Concerns Conference will take place Oct. 22 and 23 at the Temple Baptist Church Student Center in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

According to a report in the Hattiesburg American, "the conference will bring together general educators, special educators, students, psychologists, social workers, speech/language pathologists, counselors and health care providers to learn how ADHD impacts individuals and discover resources available to ensure their success."

Delaware Group to Hold ADHD Conference March 7

The Greater Newark Chapter of Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder (CHADD) will host a conference "ADHD Across the Lifespan," at Dickinson High School March 7. The featured speaker will be Jeffrey Bernstein, a licensed psychologist.
"Bernstein's workshop will help parents of children with ADHD learn effective ways to work through a child's resistance, manage their own emotions at meetings with teachers and other professionals, help their child become more obedient at home and school, follow through on behavior strategies, and become empowered through advocacy tools."
The afternoon session will feature Ari Tuckman, a clinical psychologist who will talk about how a person with ADHD processes information. Dickinson High School is located in Wilmington, Delaware. International ADHD Conference Starts Nov. 12th

CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), which is the nation's largest organization for people affected by ADHD, is hosting its 20th annual international conference on November 12 to 15 in Anaheim, California.
"The conference opens with Ross Greene, Ph.D., the renowned psychologist, providing strategies for parents to avoid conflicts and negotiate many of the parenting pitfalls that are so much a part of raising children with challenging behaviors."
The keynote speaker will be Olympic Gold Medalist Bruce Jenner, who will share his story of living with ADHD and dyslexia. Other speakers and presenters include Blake Taylor, Terry Matlen, Chris Dendy and Gina Pera. Details are available online at www.chadd.org. Source: About.com.
