"Friendship Clinic" Helps Kids with ADHD
Most children who have ADHD have a hard time making friends. Their disruptive and sometimes aggressive behavior can cause them to be rejected by peers, and may trigger a down-ward spiral of bad behavior. Assistant psychology professor Amori Yee Mikami hopes to change that with her new "Friendship Clinic".
"Mikami's clinic offers children with ADHD and their parents an eight week program... designed to put into practice the techniques learned for making friends."So far, children who have participated in the eight-week sessions have shown marked improvement in their inter-personal skills.
