Ty Pennington to join ADHD Experts on Call for Live Webcast

On September 20th, Shire Pharmaceuticals, Inc. will host "ADHD Experts on Call". The call-in program will run from 8am to midnight and include a one hour webcast during which celebrity designer Ty Pennington from "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" will share his experiences as a child growing up with ADHD.
"I know what it's like to grow up with ADHD and how important it is for parents, caregivers, and patient to have access to accurate information," said Ty...
Though ADHD Experts on Call can't provide specific medical information, it can offer helpful advice on how to recognize symptoms of ADHD, how parents and teachers can effectively talk to each other about a child with ADHD, common misconceptions and more.

Boarding schools for children with ADHD can help in ways that public schools can't. Learn more about Cedars Academy and Stone Mountain School.

Hello~My 11yr old has ADD and we are finding it very hard to get the homework done because I have to work to help support my family. He is taking Metadate CD right now and it seems to wear off fast. He has tried many meds and they were not for him. He gets depressed, withdrawn, does not eat well and does not sleep well. I have a problem with him every night with the homework. I cry and I get very frustrated. Can someone please give me some ideas on what I can do? Maybe even Ty has some answers. My sons name is Ty also short for Tyler..Please help for both of us.

I agree with Joanne on a high school scholarship or at least free access to the assistance needed for high schoolers to be successful enough to reach for and be successful in college. I am a 48 yr old single mom who basically flunked out of high school due to ADHD, this was also a control factor in an abusive marriage. With alot of determination, work, patience and some amazing people I am now a very successful junior in a womens Ivy League College. I will graduate in 2010 with a BA and am now applying to law schools. With the proper enviroment those who suffer with ADHD can be successful.

Would Ty Pennington consider sponsering a HIGH SCHOOL scolarship / financial aid for children strugling in public high school to be used for private school? Colledge is out of the question if you cant get through high school.
